Grus monacha Speed Dating and Quiz Evening
01 Apr 2008

以鹤为媒  白头偕老  奥运鹤韵  闪电约会

Following our successful Chinese culture dinner evening held on November 11th 2007 at Lotus, we are pleased to announce our next event – Grus monacha Speed Dating and Quiz Evening to be held at one of London’s most trendy oriental venues. The event is aimed at single oriental professionals in London and will provide a unique opportunity for meeting like-minded people in a fun and relaxed environment with live singer.

Date: TBA - Please visit us regularly for updates
Venue: Shanghai Blues – the piano bar

Upon arrival you will be welcomed by your host with a complementary glass of drink and oriental canapés. You will then be shown how to fold a paper crane which will be made into a necklace representing good luck and well wishes to kick off the main event of the evening – speed dating. Each guest will be given 5 minutes to chat to each of the fellow guests of opposite sex.

At the end of the speed dating, we will also be holding a mini quiz session on general knowledge of Chinese culture and questions related to Hooded Crane and Beijing Olympics, some answers of which can be found on our website www.grusmonacha.org. A small prize will be given out to the winning team.

The results of the speed dating will be communicated via emails to each guest the following day where you will receive the contact email addresses of your matches.

Application and cost:  due to limited places, applications must be via online enrolment and guests selected will be notified and given instruction to make a payment of £25 online in order to secure the place.

We look forward to hearing from you. All proceeds of the evening will be used for protecting the crane’s breeding habitat in China as well as promoting awareness of conservations through education and international appeal.

千纸鹤-明天会更好1 pen + 1 crane = 1 child’s dream takes wings
One of GMIA’s objectives is to advance “green” education in rural China. GMIA is inviting every guest to take this chance to bring a small present and an optional greeting card for a school-age child in China (example: a pen). Your good wishes, accompanied by origami cranes, are to take their flight to schools in the hometown of Hooded Cranes and schools in the region of the highest lake in the world (Lake Namtsu). It will plant a seed of love, a seed of positive changes for tomorrow.
