Thousand Origami Cranes Cup Badminton Competition Female Single

During the 5.12 earthquake in China, many school teachers and parents gave up their lives to save the young ones. The aim of this 1000-Origami-Crane Badminton Competition is to give you a chance to send a message of I CARE to the China-earthquake-orphans.

Our Aims
  • To raise funds to support the orphans in Qingchuan County, Sichuan Province, China. All proceeds will go to CEO (China-Earthquake-Orphan) Fund. For details please see CEOs supported by GMIA.
  • To provide an opportunity for professionals and students alike in London to meet friends via sports while carrying forward the Olympic spirit.
  • To collect 1000 origami cranes from London for the orphans to keep. Each player and each member of the audience on the day are encouraged to fold paper cranes carrying his/her own words. From the 1000 cranes the orphans will draw courage for a lifetime.
Prizes
1st Prize: £50 Chili Cool + £30 Lotus + £20 Phoenix Palace
2nd Prize: Digital photo frame + £40 Chili Cool + £10 Lotus
3rd Prize: £30 Chili Cool + £10 Lotus

2pm-4pm 7 September – Practice
2pm-6pm 21 September – Male & Female Single
2pm-6pm 28 September – Mixed Double & Male Double

Registration Fees
£10 per competition player (every competition player will receive a Chinese crane art). Or, come to watch (free) and to meet friends!
 
Format: Female Single
The preliminaries, semi-finals and the finals will be held on the same day.
Please arrive at the Sports Centre at 1:30pm for a 2pm start.
